  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 box brown sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. black walnut flavoring
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 1 c. milk

Directions

    Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar. Mix well, then add white sugar.

    Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.

    Sift remaining dry ingredients together and alternately with milk.

    Add flavoring and nuts. Bake at 325° until done.
