- 1 c. butter or margarine (soft)
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs (unbeaten)
- 2 c. blackberries with juice (1 lb. can)
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 heaping tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream butter and sugar.

3Add unbeaten eggs, blackberries with juice and spices.

4Mix soda with buttermilk.

5Set aside and sift and measure flour.

6Stir flour and buttermilk mixture alternately into creamed mixture.

7Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.

8Frost with Caramel Frosting.
