  • 4 cups Fresh Or Frozen Blackberries
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1/2 whole Lemon, Juice Only
  • 2 cups Water

Directions

    Bring berries, sugar, lemon juice and water to a boil in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

    Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until fruit is soft, about 30 minutes. Cover and let steep for 30 minutes.

    Pour mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on and then discarding solids.

    Serve syrup at room temperature or refrigerate and use on pancakes, ice cream or in beverages, like iced tea or lemonade.

    Refrigerate up to 3 days or freeze up to 8 months.
