- 2 c. blueberries
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Put blueberries in the bottom of an 8 x 8-inch pan.

3In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, shortening, 3/4 cup sugar and milk together.

4Pour over the berries.

5Mix together the remaining 1 cup sugar and the cornstarch and sprinkle evenly over the batter.

6Pour boiling water over the batter.

7Do not mix.

8Bake for 45 minutes.

9Serve hot or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped topping.
