- 2 lb. round steak
- flour
- salt
- butter
- 1 c. canned tomatoes
- 2 cans mushrooms
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 whole allspice
- 1 c. red wine
Directions

1Slice meat in 1/2-inch strips and dredge in flour.

2Melt butter in a heavy skillet and brown meat.

3Add tomatoes and mushrooms.

4Cook a few minutes longer.

5Transfer to a 1 1/2-quart casserole and add bay leaf, allspice and wine.

6Cover and bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
