Ingredients
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 3/8 c. warm milk
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 c. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. lemon rind
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. pecans
Directions

1Sprinkle yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes.

2Mix milk, sugar, salt, shortening and lemon rind.

3Stir until shortening is well mixed.

4Stir in egg.

5Add raisins and nuts.

6Add 1 1/4 cups flour and mix well.

7Add rest of flour and knead until smooth.

8Put in bowl and rise double.

9Punch down and let rise again for 45 minutes.
