- 454 grams sultanas
- 227 grams butter or Margarine
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- lemon
- 1/4 cup sugar
Directions

1Boil Sultanas in just enough water to cover for 8 minutes.

2Strain off water and cut butter into hot sultanas

3Beat in eggs and sugar.

4Sift in dry ingredients and add essence.

5Bake in a slow oven (300 - 325 F) 150 - 160 C for 1, 1/2 hours or until cooked in centre.
