- 1 large head red cabbage
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
Directions

1Cut cabbage in half.

2Wash, drain, core and shred.

3Melt butter or margarine in kettle over low heat.

4Add shredded cabbage and saute 5 minutes.

5Add sugar, salt, vinegar and water.

6Toss until mixed.

7Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

8Spoon into dish.

9Makes 8 to 10 servings.
