  • 1 (15 oz.) box Bran Flakes (save 1 c.)
  • 1 c. melted canola shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 5 c. flour
  • 5 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raisins

Directions

    Mix Bran Flakes, sugar, soda, salt and flour in large bowl. Add beaten eggs, shortening and buttermilk.

    Mix well.

    Fold in raisins.

    Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Mix will keep in refrigerator in a covered bowl for up to 6 weeks before baking.
