- 1 (15 oz.) box Bran Flakes (save 1 c.)
- 1 c. melted canola shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 5 c. flour
- 5 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. raisins
Directions

1Mix Bran Flakes, sugar, soda, salt and flour in large bowl. Add beaten eggs, shortening and buttermilk.

2Mix well.

3Fold in raisins.

4Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

5Mix will keep in refrigerator in a covered bowl for up to 6 weeks before baking.
