- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add sugar, salt and half of flour; beat 2 minutes.

3Add egg and shortening.

4Beat in remaining flour gradually.

5Mix with hands until smooth.

6Place in greased bowl.

7Keep covered until double in size.

8Punch down and shape into loaves or rolls.

9Let rise and bake at 350° to 375° until brown.
