  • 12 slices white bread, cut diagonally
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/3 c. raisins

Directions

    Stagger bread slices in a 12 x 6 x 2 1/2-inch baking dish, crust side up. Combine next 7 ingredients until well blended. Pour over bread slices. Sprinkle with raisins.

    Place baking dish in a large baking pan.

    Pour hot water in pan until about 1-inch deep. Place in preheated oven at 375° and bake 1 hour.
