- 1 stick butter
- 12 slices bread, toasted with butter
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 1/2 c. milk (1 can Pet, add milk to make 3 1/2 c.)
- 5 eggs
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Toast bread.

2Place in casserole dish 9 x 13-inch (6 slices will fit on one layer.)

3Add another layer of toast.

4Mix remaining ingredients and pour over bread.

5Dish should stand for a few minutes to soak.

6Set a saucer on top to hold down bread. Put remaining pats of butter on top.

7Soak for 3 to 4 hours or refrigerate overnight.

8Bake at 350° for about 20 to 25 minutes or until bread puffs up and is golden brown.
