  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cherries (1 can, pitted)
  • 1/4 c. juice from cherries

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk.

    Pour into a buttered baking dish.

    Combine and heat cherries, juice and 1/4 cup sugar.

    Pour over batter.

    Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve hot with cream.
