  • 4 eggs, beaten until foamy
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 c. scalded milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 slices bread, cubed
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Directions

    Mix the first 3 ingredients together, then add milk and vanilla.

    Add bread and raisins.

    Put into a buttered casserole. Add the milk mixture.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg.

    Put casserole in pan of water.

    Bake 10 minutes in a 450° oven, then 40 minutes in a 325° oven.
