- 1 large day-old French bread
- 3 large cans evaporated milk
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 dozen eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 large can crushed pineapple
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 medium jar cherries, halved
Directions

1Break bread in pieces and moisten with water.

2Squeeze out excess water.

3In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla.

4Mix well.

5Add bread and mix thoroughly, mashing bread in milk mixture.

6Add pineapple, raisins and cherries.

7Mix well. Bake in a large baking pan at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until set and lightly browned.

8Serve with butter rum sauce or custard-type rum sauce.
