Bread Pudding

  • 1 c. stale bread sq.
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. milk

Directions

    Measure bread in a cup, pressing firmly.

    Melt margarine in 1-quart baking dish; add bread squares.

    Toss until coated.

    Beat eggs until blended; stir in sugar, salt, nutmeg, vanilla and milk. Slowly pour over bread.

    Let stand 10 minutes.

    Set dish in pan of hot water.

    Bake in a 325° oven for 45 minutes or until firm. Remove from hot water; cool on rack.
