Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • sandwich bread, sweet bread or cinnamon raisin bread (almost the whole loaf)
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 6 whole eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 qt. half and half

Directions

    Toast bread in the toaster until golden brown and cut into 1-inch cubes.

    Mix egg yolks, eggs and sugar.

    Mix vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and half and half; add to egg mixture and mix well.

    Place cooled cubes in glass pan.

    Pour custard over and let soak 15 to 20 minutes.

    Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350° until set. Use your toothpick.
