Breaded Venison Steaks

- 2 lb. venison steaks, cut into slices 1/4-inch thick
- 1 c. fresh lemon juice
- salt
- pepper
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. fine bread crumbs
- garlic powder
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 1/2 c. shortening
Directions

1In a glass baking dish, marinate the steaks in lemon juice for 1 hour.

2Pat them dry with a paper towel and sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

3Dip in eggs, beaten with water, then dip in flour.

4Shake off the excess and finally dip them in bread crumbs.

5Refrigerate at least 1/2 hour.
