Breaded Venison Steaks

  • 2 lb. venison steaks, cut into slices 1/4-inch thick
  • 1 c. fresh lemon juice
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. fine bread crumbs
  • garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • 1 1/2 c. shortening

Directions

    In a glass baking dish, marinate the steaks in lemon juice for 1 hour.

    Pat them dry with a paper towel and sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

    Dip in eggs, beaten with water, then dip in flour.

    Shake off the excess and finally dip them in bread crumbs.

    Refrigerate at least 1/2 hour.
