Breakfast Barley Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pt Orange juice
  • 1/2 pt Water
  • 2 ounce Dry apricots
  • 1 pch Cloves
  • 4 ounce Pearl barley
  • 1/2 ounce Margarine
  • 1 ounce Mixed nuts minced, opt.

Directions

    Put the orange juice & water into a pan.

    Add in the apricots cut into small pcs & the spice.
  3. 3
    Bring to a boil & add in the barley.
  4. 4
    Cover & simmer for about 1 hour, till the barley is tender.
  5. 5
    Add in more orange juice if necessary.

    The liquid should be absorbed when the barley is ready.

    Stir in the margarine & the nuts if using.
  8. 8
    Serve warm either as is or possibly with a splash of soymilk.
