  • 8 to 10 slices cubed bread (white and/or wheat)
  • 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 lb. ground sausage
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 5 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 c. cubed, cooked ham (for extra flavor)
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp. yellow mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Oil 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cover bottom with bread.

    Fry loose sausage; drain and sprinkle over bread.

    Add cheeses and mushrooms.

    Combine slightly beaten eggs with milk and seasonings. Pour over bread, meat and cheese mixture.

    Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.
