  • 7 egg whites, beaten slightly
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 7/8 c. sugar, sifted twice
  • 3/4 c. cake flour, sifted twice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond flavoring

Directions

    Combine egg whites, baking powder and cream of tartar; beat until stiff.

    Fold in sugar and flour.

    Blend in flavorings.

    Pour into medium size cake pan; place cake in cold oven.

    Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

    Cool before removing from pan.
