  • 6 slices bread, lightly toasted
  • 1 lb. sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 pt. half and half or milk
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms (optional)

Directions

    Crumble bread into bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Sprinkle cooked sausage over toast, then cheese.

    Mix in bowl the eggs, half and half, mustard and salt.

    Pour this mixture over cheese.

    Cover with foil; refrigerate for 8 hours.

    Bake at 400° for 40 minutes.
