- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups 100% wheat bran high fibre cereal
- 1/3 cup sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp. Magic Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. each: cinnamon and allspice
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup oil
- 2 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 1/2 cups finely grated carrots Target 2 lb For $3.00 thru 02/06
- 1/2 cup chopped dates
Directions

1MIX flour, cereal, sesame seeds, baking powder, cinnamon, allspice, baking soda and salt in large bowl.

2WHISK together egg, buttermilk, brown sugar, oil and molasses.

3STIR liquid mixture into dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.

4Fold in carrots and dates.

5SPREAD evenly in greased 13 x 9 inch (3L/ 33 x 23 cm) baking pan.

6Bake at 350F (180C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until centre springs back when gently touched.

7Cool on rack.

8Cut into bars.

9Store in airtight container.
