Brining Turkey

- 2-1/2 gal. water
- 1 cup table salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 (10 lb.) turkey (thawed, if frozen)
Directions

1Place water, salt, sugar and pepper in deep container, preferably plastic, large enough to hold the turkey and the brining liquid.

2(Be sure container will fit in refrigerator).

3Stir until salt and sugar are completely dissolved.

4Add turkey to container, submerging turkey completely.

5(Make more brining liquid, if necessary).

6Cover container with plastic wrap; refrigerate at least 10 hours or up to 24 hours.

7Remove turkey from brining liquid; rinse well with cold water.

8Pat dry with paper towels.

9Bake as directed on turkey package.
