Broccoli Deluxe

  • 1 lb. broccoli or 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut broccoli
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 c. shredded sharp American cheese
  • 1/4 c. shredded Velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Cut up broccoli.

    Cook in covered pan in 1-inch boiling salted water until tender 10 to 15 minutes or cook frozen broccoli according to package directions.

    Drain.

    In saucepan, melt half of the butter or margarine.

    Blend in flour, salt and dash of pepper.

    Add milk.

    Cook, stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly.

    Reduce heat; blend in cream cheese until smooth.
