- 6 medium red ripe tomatoes
- 24 slivers garlic
- Salt to taste if desired
- Freshly ground pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Directions

1Preheat the broiler to high, 500 degrees.

2Cut the tomatoes in half and arrange, cut side up, in a baking dish.

3Insert 2 garlic slivers in each half.

4Sprinkle with salt, pepper and olive oil.

5Sprinkle with the cheese.

6Place under the broiler for about 5 minutes until bubbling and the garlic tips start to brown.

7Remove garlic, sprinkle with basil and serve.
