  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 box light brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts are best)

    Cream shortening and margarine.

    Add sugars, beating well.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    (Add baking powder with flour.)

    Bake in greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
