Brown Sugar Squash

  • 2 medium-size acorn squash
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. water

Directions

    Clean squash and cut in half.

    Clean out seeds with a spoon. Remove stem.

    Fill a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with 1/4 cup water. Place squash upside-down in pan.

    Bake at 350° for 1/2 hour. While squash is baking, melt butter in pan.

    Stir in brown sugar, salt and nutmeg.

    Leave mixture on low heat until 1/2 hour is up. Take out squash, turn them right side up and fill them with butter mixture.

    Place squash back in oven for 1/2 hour.
