- 1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
- 4 oz. chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Directions

1Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler; cool.

2Beat eggs and salt until light and foamy.

3Gradually add sugar and vanilla and continue beating until well creamed.

4With a few strokes (mix manually), combine chocolate into egg/sugar mixture.

5Before mixture becomes uniformly colored, fold in flour.

6Again, before mixing is uniformly colored, gently stir in pecans or walnuts. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan for 25 to 30 minutes at 350°.
