Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. oil or melted butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. unsifted flour
  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Blend oil, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl.

    Add eggs; beat well with a spoon.

    Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to egg mixture.

    Stir in nuts.

    Spread in a greased 9 x 9-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from edges of pan.

    Cool in pan. Cut into squares.

    Makes 16 brownies.
