Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. (scant) flour
  • 8 slightly heaping Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Mix well together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

    Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder together and mix in.

    Stir in pecans.

    Pour into 9 x 13-inch greased baking pan.

    Bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.

    Do not overbake.

    Cool and cut in squares.
