  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 3 sq. chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. walnuts

Directions

    Melt shortening and chocolate.

    Watch so it doesn't burn. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla.

    Mix in flour and salt.

    Blend well. Add chocolate and shortening; blend.

    Stir in nuts.

    Bake in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan for 25 to 30 minutes at 325°.

    Frost, when cooled.
