Butternut Pound Cake

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 small can evaporated milk, with enough water to make 1 c.
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla/butternut flavoring

Directions

    Cream together the sugar, Crisco and oleo.

    Beat the eggs, one at a time, and add to mixture.

    Combine the flour and salt.

    Add the salt-flour mixture alternately with the milk.

    Fold in the flavoring by hand.

    Bake at 350° in greased tube pan for 1 hour and 45 minutes, starting in a cold oven!

    Do not open door while baking.

    Remove from pan immediately.
