- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. half and half
- 4 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp. dried whole thyme
- 1/4 tsp. dried marjoram
- 1/4 tsp. dried basil
- 18 hard-cooked eggs
- 1/4 c. minced fresh parsley
- 1 lb. bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled
- 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- garnish with parsley sprigs
Directions

1Melt 1/4 cup butter in heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour.

2Stir until smooth.

3Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and half and half.

4Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.

5Add cheese and herbs, stirring until cheese melts.
