Ingredients

  • 1 (3-4 lb.) chicken, cut in serving pieces
  • boiling water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lg. onion, sliced
  • 1 c. green lima beans
  • 1 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. frozen corn
  • black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. catsup or Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 c. butter

Directions

    Put chicken in Dutch oven with enough boiling water to cover. Add salt and simmer for 45 minutes.

    Add potatoes, onion, beans, tomatoes and sugar.

    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

    Add corn, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Season and add catsup or Worcestershire sauce.

    Add butter and stir well.

    Transfer to serving dish and serve hot.
