Ingredients

  • 1 small hen or large fryer, cut into pieces
  • 1 lb. fresh lean pork
  • 1 lb. stew beef
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can corn, creamed or whole kernel
  • 1 can lima beans or frozen may be used
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut into pieces
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 c. celery, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1/2 lemon, sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Place chicken and meats into pot and cover with water; add salt and pepper.

    Cover and cook until very tender.

    Remove meat from bones and return to broth.

    Add all of the other ingredients and cook slowly
  5. 5
    until it is as thick as you like, usually about an hour.

    Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.

    More seasoning may be added, if desired.
