  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • sugar

Directions

    Combine the first 7 ingredients.

    Cut in butter to resemble coarse crumbs.

    Stir in molasses and egg.

    Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

    Remove from cookie sheet immediately.
