  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
  • 1/2 pound chorizo, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons tequila
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 6 slices pepper Jack cheese
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons salsa
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3 tablespoons sliced green onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 6 large hamburger buns, toasted
  • Iceberg lettuce leaves

Directions

    COMBINE the meats, tequila, lime juice, and garlic salt in a mixing bowl.

    Form the meat into 6 patties.

    COOK as directed for Cheater Kitchen Burgers (page 119).

    During the last minute or two of cooking, top with cheese.

    COMBINE all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

    PLACE the burgers on the buns and serve with Mayo de Mayo and lettuce.
