Burgundy Stew

Ingredients

• 2 lb chuck beef cubed
• 1 med onion coarse chopped
• 1 large carrot coarse chopped
• 2 stakes celery coasse chopped
• 3 cloves garlic chopped
• Olive oil for browning and sauteing
• 1 large bay leaf
• 1 clove
• 1 pinch thyme
• 1 Tbl worcshire sauce
• 2 cups red wine
• 2 cups crushed tomatoes
• 2 cups beef broth
• water as required
• Potatoes cubed
• Carrots cut diagonally
• Mushrooms sliced (optional)
