- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. canned evaporated milk
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions

1Put 1 cup sugar in a pan and melt completely.

2Then pour 1 cup cold water into it.

3While it is melting, mix 2 cups sugar, canned milk and butter in bowl until dissolved.

4Pour into dissolved sugar and water.

5Cook until soft ball forms when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts.

6Beat by hand until it starts to thicken.

7Pour in a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

8Cool, cut and enjoy.
