  • 2 1/2 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 sticks margarine, melted
  • 1 c. nuts, raisins or chocolate chips (if desired)

Directions

    Mix flour and sugar.

    Add egg, vanilla and margarine.

    Mix well with a spoon.

    Fold in nuts.

    Drop on an ungreased cookie sheet about the size of a half-dollar.

    Bake in a 350° oven until lightly brown.

    Remove cookies with a metal spatula and cool before serving.

    Yields 2 1/2 dozen.
