- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 5 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 3 Tbsp. milk
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening with mixer.

2Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed.

3Scrape bottom and sides of bowl often.

4When all the sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.

5Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy.

6Frosts 3 layers or 9 x 12-inch cake.
