Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. buttermilk, warmed
  • 2 1/2 tsp. plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. Mazola or Wesson oil
  • 1 1/2 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water

    Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.

    Mix all other ingredients.

    Mix the flour one cup at a time.

    Let stand 10 minutes after mixing.

    Knead 5 minutes.

    Let rise 30 minutes.

    Make or cut into biscuits.

    Melt margarine and rub on top of biscuits before baking.

    Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes or until done.
