- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat buttermilk until it separates and is warm.

2Combine sugar and salt with buttermilk in large mixing bowl.

3Dissolve yeast in mixture; stir in egg.

4Add shortening; add half the flour, stirring well.

5Add remaining flour gradually, stirring until dough leaves side of bowl.

6Place in greased bowl.

7Cover with damp cloth and place in refrigerator for 1 hour.

8Punch dough down; shape into rolls.

9Place on sheet.

10Let rise in warm place.

11Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
