  • 1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 to 1 c. water

    Grease a cold, large cast-iron skillet.

    Mix all ingredients, except water.

    If batter will not run off spoon, add water until it does.

    Pour in skillet.
