- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 1/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. cornmeal
Directions

1Combine 3 1/2 cups of flour and the yeast.

2Heat milk, sugar, shortening and salt, just until shortening is melted.

3Beat at low speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes.

4Beat 3 minutes at high speed.

5By hand, stir in cornmeal and remaining flour.

6Cover; let rise in warm place until double in size.

7Stir down.

8Fill 24 muffin cups 2/3 full; let rise.

9Bake at 400° until golden brown.
