- 2 cups white sugar
- 12 cup butter, softened
- 12 cup shortening, see note
- 2 large eggs
- 5 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
Directions

1In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside.

2Cream together sugar, butter, shortening, eggs and vanilla until light.

3Add flour mixture alternating with buttermilk.

4Add more flour if needed.

5Refrigerate until well chilled.

6Roll to desired thickness (approx.

8Bake at 350 for 8 minutes.

9Be careful not to over bake.
