Buttermilk Doughnuts

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Beat eggs and sugar; add oil and vanilla.

    Add flour, etc., with the buttermilk.

    When well mixed, put on floured board and roll out about 1/2-inch thick.

    Cut with doughnut cutter.

    Fry in hot (375°) oil or Crisco until light brown, turning as you cook. Makes about 2 dozen doughnuts.
