  • 3 whole eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 whole pie crust (9-inch; unbaked)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk

    Beat egg whites until stiff.

    Set aside.

    Mix together sugar and flour.

    Add egg yolks, vanilla, butter and buttermilk and mix well.

    Fold in egg whites.

    Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 5 minutes in preheated 425° oven, then reduce heat to 350° and bake until toothpick comes out clean, approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
