- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. butter flavor
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening.

2Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

3Sift dry ingredients together.

4Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.

5Stir in flavorings.

6Bake at 325° for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured Bundt pan or 2 loaf pans.

7Cook 15 minutes and shake to loosen before turning over.

8Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

9Serve plain or with a couple tablespoons warm peach or strawberry preserves.
